Throughout 2022, Z2 helped design and provide RPEQ certification for temporary traffic management solutions for landslip damage throughout the hinterlands of Gold Cost and Sunshine Coast in Southeast Queensland. Each location required site-specific considerations for local accessibility requirements and, typically, RPEQ-certified, non-standard design solutions due to the curved and undulating nature of the road carriageways.
In 2022, Z2 helped our clients tender over $482M of infrastructure projects within the civil and mining sectors. Our involvement included the following:
- End-to-end tender development,
- First principles cost estimation,
- Project staging, resourcing and program development,
- Traffic management staging, and
- Temporary traffic signal staging.
Each tender presented unique challenges and took us to unique locations around Australia and Indonesia.
In preparation for the 2032 Olympic Games, the Queensland Government required an independent assessment of the feasibility of various options for the Gabba Redevelopment. The vision was to provide a 50,000-seat, tier-1, legacy venue designed for world-class cricket and AFL and have the ability to host the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games opening and closing ceremonies and athletics events. As a part of this assessment, Z2 was engaged to provide a high-level evaluation of the various road network impacts and potential changes to the public transport and temporary traffic management game day overlays.
Z2 was engaged to conduct independent verification of traffic signal construction at the intersection of Australia Avenue and Trackstar Drive (bus station) in Springfield, Queensland. Z2 conducted progressive site inspections, reviewing the ongoing civil construction works and ensuring adherence to Main Roads and Ipswich City Council's standards. Using our experience with traffic signal construction, Z2 was able to balance onsite constraints and helped deliver infrastructure that enhanced the local area walking, cycling and public transport demands.
Z2 was engaged to assess the compliance of an existing pedestrian crossing facility situated between Olympic Dam Airport and the accommodation village in South Australia. Z2 evaluated the existing facilities against the compliance requirements of the South Australian Government's guidance and recommended seven (7) items of improvement to be included within the concept and detailed design of the airport carpark upgrade project.
Z2 was tasked with developing options for the construction of an access upgrade at the intersection of Warrego Highway and Oakey Pittsworth Road in Oakey, Queensland. Z2 successfully negotiated the approval of the construction solution that is both the safest option for the road authority and the most cost-efficient for the client. The assessment included a tender documentation review, an analysis of temporary barrier options, temporary traffic management impacts and the review of the suitability of a heavy vehicle detour via Toowoomba Road.
